From a tiny bean, flows a great source of freshness
The Journey of
Amid the bustling rhythm of Saigon, there was a young man who always remembered the summer afternoons in his hometown, where his grandmother would gently simmer a pot of green-kernel black bean water — fragrant, soothing, and refreshing.
To him, it was not just a cooling drink but a taste of peace and simple love.
Years later, as he returned to the busy cycle of work, coffee, and sugary drinks, he suddenly realized — in this vibrant city, people were gradually forgetting that pure, natural freshness..."
An idea sprouted in Saigon
One hot afternoon in a café, the young man wrote in his notebook: “What if green-kernel black bean water — the drink of my hometown — could be made modern and convenient?”
From that thought, he began his entrepreneurial journey: traveling across the Mekong Delta to source clean beans, testing dozens of formulas to preserve the traditional flavor while keeping it pure when canned. He wanted to create a beverage that was refreshing, healthy, and suitable for the lifestyle of young urban people.
The difficult early days
Lack of capital, lack of machinery, repeated failures. There was even a whole batch he had to discard because the beans were over-roasted. But he believed: “If we make it true, make it clean, people will trust it.”
Step by step, he partnered with farmers, invested in modern production lines, and created the brand DDM – Drink Different Mindfully – Sip differently, live mindfully.
When a bean becomes a symbol
The first DDM cans appeared on Saigon shelves.
On the can, the humble yet proud green-kernel black bean stood as a symbol of nature and Vietnamese identity. He smiled:
“My small dream now has a shape, a flavor, and a soul.”
A journey of spreading goodness
DDM is not just a refreshing drink — it is a reminder of a green lifestyle, a clean way of living, and mindful choices. From a small kitchen, this Vietnamese brand has risen to supermarket shelves, carrying the aspirations of a new generation: to dream boldly, to take action, and to dare to be different.
